I know a fantastic place to watch the sunset. It’s on top of a small mountain in Perchtoldsdorf, a suburb of Vienna, well known for it’s winetaverns an it’s beautiful medieval center. The view from there is just breathtaking, you can see the whole city and it’s surrounding on one side and on the other side you can see the alps! It’s relatively easy to get there by public transport from the city center of Vienna because it’s right outside of the city. It’s an easy 45 minutes walk from the tram to the top of the “mountain”. I would not mind to show you this place.
good morning early birds, take a bus from 4-heiligenstadt, step out at cobenzl, buy a bottle of wine [ca. 5e] at the children-zoo behind the busstation/wc, pass the ‘weingut cobenzl’ left or right side and u reach a very nice meadow whit a amazing view over vienna, danube, till prater, schwechat, a.s.o. just take a blanket whit u, there are a lot gras-pollen!
cu josh u also can step out at kahlenberg one/two hour before sunset and hike to the meadow..
